Marketing - Not for Idiots

Not for Idiots

When you spend so much time talking to fellow business owners, do you despair? I am shocked on an almost daily basis as to the lack of business knowledge most of these people have. Certainly in the good old days (remember them), you could get by with just being good at what you do. But people, the world has changed.

It is no longer good enough for you to be good at what you do.

You really should understand cash flow, you really should know where your customers are coming from and how they found you. You should know what your average profit per customer is and how much you have to spent to get them in the door.

I have been in business many years and I have tried most things. Loving innovation and change I lap up books on how to..... How to start a business, how to manage your accounts, how to sell, how to market your services. And this is continually changing so you need to keep up to date. All this is of course in addition to keeping abreast with the latest goings on within your business sector.

If you can’t sell – you’re doomed!

Let me clarify, if you are a one man band or can not afford to hire someone in with sales experience you are doomed. How many people in business just expect people to come to their door? It just doesn’t happen as much today. My God, even the prostitutes are advertising!

Here is some Free advice if you’re interested on marketing your business.

Ask yourself, how many ways are there to market and promote my business? Write them down. Things like TV may be far too expensive so you can cross them off your list for now. But what about the others? What about radio – quite expensive with diminishing audiences that would have to listen at specific times of day to hear your 4 times a day ad. What about paper advertising. Now I would say this depends on your business. Emergency service like 24 hour plumbers and electricians may do well from these. But again for the majority of us you have to appear in front of the reader when they are in buying mode.

You have to be in front of a prospective client when they are in buying mode.

That should trim down a few advertising mediums. Think now about the internet, or rather Google. Nowadays people “Google it” don’t they?  I know I was looking for a 6 panel internal door and Google was where I went to check prices and local stockists. And I bought one after ringing a local supplier.

If you are not on Google your business is Doomed!

Bill Gates said if you don’t have a website, you very soon won’t have a business. The world has become more focused since then. Since 93% of all searches in the UK are done on Google, you have to be there or you are Doomed!  Actually its much worse than that. You see Google's first page gets about 94% of all the clicks. So all the other thousands of pages are fighting over 6%. So the hard reality of it all is, if you are not on the first page of Google your business is doomed.

SEO Consultant gets Angry

Lies, Laziness and more Lies

Lazy and Dangerous
I don't know wether to laugh or cry? Really. I have just looked at a few other fellow SEO Consultants websites and I was shocked by what I saw! Hence the need for this post. My God. I could not believe that right there on their pages they said we cannot guarantee you page one of Google. I ask you, what the heck are they SEO Consultants for?

I'm not really a doctor
Here the link go laugh yourselves: Item 4 How I Work!  http://carrieannsudlow.co.uk/?gclid=CJ2v0f2gl7ECFc8KtAod0VbwPQ

I went to the doctors the other day feeling ill, he gave me some tablets and said I can't guarantee they will work. Then I went to the computer store. Saw one I wanted and the guy said sorry but I cant guarantee it will work. Please SHAKE YOUR HEADS. Would you EVER buy something that didnt have some kind of guarantee? Well I wouldn't. Let's suppose these "Consultants" are as clever as me. What then is the difference between me and them? Hard work! I didn't say getting you to page one takes the flick of a switch. But each website, initially takes about 5 hours work for the first month or two, thereafter about 2 to 3. I think for my skill and expertise I am worth £16 an hour. What are these others charging, and more to the point, for what?

Would you buy without a guarantee
Number 1 I hate people being ripped off, number 2 I dislike fellow professionals who say "A Google Page One Guarantee is impossible" - just because they haven't got the skill or the time to give businesses the internet exposure they need. If you see one of these lazy consultants, tell them they are wrong and lazy - as is BT and Yell and lots of other companies. Here you will get a written guarantee of a page One Google position or you don't pay. No small print, no Adwords, just lots of hard graft and application of knowledge. thank you.

Delighted Customers

Delighted Customers

Watched the "Bank of Dave" on Channel 4 last night and simply loved that guys drive and motivation! What Dave is trying to do to help businesses in Burnley, we at are trying to do for small businesses in the UK - and across the English speaking world.

Be the Best
I strongly believe it all comes down to focus. You can try and build a business that has monetary goals, or possession goals - But I know that these don't give business owners enough drive to run a successful company. The focus needs to be on providing the best service for your customers. If you do they will come back, they will recommend you to others. You could have an exploding business with thousands of highly delighted customers. How nice would that be?

That is my aim, and PWP Web Designs aim to have delighted customers. that is to say delighted customers over satisfied customers.

To delight them and keep them coming back for me you have to understand their needs. Do what Dave does and actually go out, meet them and ask them questions. And in the field that is search engine optimisation, education plays a huge role in building trust and rapport with your clients. If we educate but don't get a sale I am happy, if we educate and get a sale I am highly delighted.

If you own a small business and have ambition, need help with online marketing, I would love to talk with you. As specialists in SEO we can guarantee your business first page on Google. Not some hollow guarantee, this is a cast iron written guarantee. In fact you would be silly not to take up our offer, you have nothing to lose? But maybe you are not educated enough yet, and that's ok. Why not contact me and ask some questions about what I can do for your business? And then decide.

How to get on the first page of Google

To get your company listed on the first page of Google’s search results, must be every serious business owners goal. This article contains information on why you need to be there and how to get listed.

There are just three ways to get on the first page of Google

1. A Natural Listing

2. Adwords Pay Per Click Advert

The Natural Listing.

This is the reason why Google exists. To provide searchers with the most relevant results appertaining to the search phrase they typed in. It therefore makes sense that in order to appear on page one your website must contain information that those searchers are looking for. This is where Search Engine Optimisation (SEO) comes in. Fine tuning both on site and off site factors to suit whatever keyword phrases you want to be found for.

Adwords Pay Per Click.

This is how Google makes its money. Those top three positions in the Beige coloured box are paid for adverts. Business choose which keywords they want to appear for. You can fine tune the area in which your ad will show, the times and the approximate position. All these parameters govern the amount paid, but remember you only pay when a potential customer clicks on your advert.

Google Places for Business.

Used to be called Google maps. Research shows that 97% of Google searchers are looking for a local service. 97%! Wow! This is why positional preference is also given to local businesses. These local listings appear usually below the Pay Per Click adverts – but not always. Sometimes they can be at the very top of the page.

Conclusion.

Being on page one of Google is essential. In the UK 93% of all searches are done on Google. Of those searches 94% click on the first page. The very smart business owners have realised that they can gain a bigger share of those clicks by dominating page one of Google, not with just one listing, but by appearing multiple times.

consultants can assist your business get to page one of Google. Their SEO experts have a 100% success rate and offer a written guarantee that they can get your company listed on page one of Google naturally – or you don’t pay. Diet or a Big Slice of Pie

Diet or a Big Slice of Pie?

To help educate potential clients or business owners interested in website design and search engine optimisation; we are finding that by using metaphors and analogies we promote better understanding. Today’s article is one of many more to come, so please bookmark our blog for further updates.
We see many business owners who have their companies on strict diets. Because their internet marketing is not targeted correctly. This means that their slice of the pie is very thin indeed and correspondingly, results in low enquiry rates and not much business.

What can you do to fatten your business up and get a more significant piece of pie? First of all you need to find out what your potential clients are searching for, and how many of them there are. You can do this by using the “Google keyword tool”. This will give you a breakdown of how many searches are being carried out on Google over the last month, both locally and globally.
Let me introduce you to the pie, your potential clients. In the UK over 93% of searches are carried out using Google. You can optimise your site for Bing, Yahoo any of the others, but that is a diet that could seriously harm your business!

So now we know which piece of pie we want – Google pie please. But, the Google pie comes in lots and lots of slices, (search result pages). Independent research gives us fairly accurate insight into the size of these slices. Here they are in size order. I suggest you go greed and go for the biggest slice!

75% of the Google pie - that is 75% of your potential customers will click on a business that appears in the top half of the results on page one.

19% of your potential clients will click on a business that is listed in the bottom half of the page one results.

This means that a massive 94% of business that it generated through online marketing with Google comes from page one.

The remaining 6% of the pie is distributed among all the remaining pages.

If you know what your target market are searching for, then now you need to optimise your website and target your marketing to get onto the first page of Google, preferably the top half. At PWP Web design we say that if you are on page one for your required search phrase, then you have a great online marketing tool. If you appear anywhere else, you just have a website – and a business on a diet! The decision is yours, let us hope your business soon has a bulging waistline.

PWP Web Design and Search Engine Optimisation guarantees to get your company on to page one of Google’s natural search results.

Why you don't want a website

Background - My background is in electronics, stretching back 30 years. By electronics I mean repairing state of the art equipment down to basic component level and programming computers. My digital background covers online marketing and photography.

So then, I suppose you are wondering why you don't want a website?

Millions of businesses have websites, and sadly the vast majority of those businesses do not understand that having a pretty website is a waste of time, effort and money! A website has to be a marketing tool. So, then what is the difference between a website and a marketing tool. For me this comes down to where your website appears in the search results for your targeted keywords.

Independent statistics show that well over 95% of all clicks are given to those websites on page 1 of Google. The most going to those sites listed above the fold. The fold is the area seen on your PC, tablet or phone without you having to scroll down.

Here at PWP Web Design we guarantee to get your website listed on the first page of Google, with the ultimate aim of having you above the fold for your chosen keyword or phrase. If you appear anywhere else having a website is pointless.

How we guarantee page 1 natural listing.

There are thousands of businesses wanting to be on page 1 of Google for any given keyword or phrase, so competition is high. In order to guarantee you a page one natural listing our web technicians carry out extensive research into that competition using select keywords. Should that research show that a page 1 natural listing would be extremely difficult and perhaps more importantly very expensive, we would suggest other appropriate keywords, or turn your business down. Our business ethos is to get businesses onto page one, which keeps you delighted because your marketing tool now generates extra revenue for your business and keeps you as a client. The alternatives are just a waste of marketing efforts, budgets and result in high turnover of dissatisfied clients. Please note this is not pay per click advertising.

Think of your website this way.

You have a beautiful car, but it is kept in your garage where no one but you can see it. Or you have 10,000 flyers printed and they all go in the bin, no one gets to read them. Marketing, online or otherwise is only effective if it get seen by your target audience.

This is what we aim to do for you. A simple and effective online marketing tool to drive more customers to your business.
